Why Narration Matters

**Objective**: Practice explaining your thinking while you code, without turning the interview into a constant monologue. By the end, you'll know how to: - Narrate useful checkpoints while implementing. - Explain intent before writing code. - Recover verbally when you get stuck. - Practice this inside your normal AlgoDaily challenge sessions.

In The Seven-Step Coding Interview Script, we turned the interview into a repeatable flow: understand, validate, improve, code, verify.

Now we zoom in on one part candidates often under-practice: talking while implementing.

This matters because the interviewer cannot read your mind. If you silently write code for ten minutes, they have to guess whether you are:

  • Following a clear plan,
  • Randomly trying ideas,
  • Stuck on syntax,
  • Missing an edge case, or
  • Almost finished.

Good narration turns your code into evidence of your thinking.

Not theater. Not filler.

Just enough signal so the interviewer can follow your decisions.
