Release Readiness
Now that we've covered Pipeline Anatomy with YAML, Configuration as Code: Why and How?, Understanding Jenkins and Its Pipelines, and Deployment Strategies: Blue-Green, Canary, and Rolling Releases, we’re ready for the final gate in this section: release readiness.
A release readiness checklist answers one practical question:
If we press the release button, do we know what will happen, how we’ll verify it, and how we’ll recover if it goes wrong?
This is not paperwork for its own sake. It is how teams make deployment boring—in the best possible way.
Think of it as the pre-flight checklist before takeoff:
Code merged -> Artifact built -> Config verified -> Rollout planned -> Monitor -> Rollback ready
The goal is not “zero risk.” The goal is known risk with a controlled response.
